An enthusiastic and vivacious
person with excellent inter-personal skills, Lis is a popular and engaging
speaker. She has the ability to transform the most mundane subject with
wit and humour.
Lis was born and brought up in Derbyshire in a medical
family. Her mother was a driving force in Mencap and Lis spent many
youthful hours helping her. Undoubtedly this background shaped her first
career move when, after a degree in English and Psychology, she entered the
nursing profession. This was followed by a position in the House and
Commons, and then a job in the City.
Marriage, a move to Berkshire, and bringing up four
daughters, presented different opportunities: working for a cancer charity,
presenting for a radio station, teaching yoga, active involvement with a local
Music School and Speakers Club. She has worked as a self-development coach
and practitioner, in particular helping mothers to return to the job market.
Highly motivated, conscientious and with a keen sense of
personal integrity, Lis is keen to seek out and acknowledge individual skills
and talents in others, without being judgmental. With her wide range of
