SPEAK UP! SPEAK OUT! (SUSO) – Public Speaking Training

Why public speaking?
The term ‘communication skills’ is very emotive and can mean many different things to many people and is certainly broader than the skill of communication by speaking. Of course, the term ‘public speaking’ can also be misleading. What we at SpeakersBank envisage is not the narrow definition of a formal stage and formal address but the broadest interpretation.
When and where, in all our lives, are we called to speak up, to give account, to communicate with passion and confidence? For many of us we need to do that daily and need to be daily developing the skills to do that. That for us is 'public speaking', speaking to other people – our public wherever and whenever we engage with them.
Some we train will use the skills for formal addresses and key-note speeches – others will find they are more assured on the telephone or simply more comfortable about how to present the next time the need arises!
Skills such as public speaking are a life-long process – our training is intended to kick-start that process – to both encourage and to inform. At the end of the day our aim is to equip and inspire... let the training commence!
Our core public speaking programme is Speak Up! Speak Out! (SUSO). It is designed to empower and build confidence through teaching practical public speaking techniques. Participants are taught the basic skills then they immediately put them into practice. By speaking, hearing others speak and by giving and receiving feedback they learn intensively about effective communication. We train small or large groups, as well as individuals. Programmes can be run to fit your requirements, from short introductory workshops to full training days.
We recognise that not everyone starts with the same level of experience or ability , which is why we have 3 levels (Level 3 being the highest). However, don't be fooled into thinking Level 1 is not relevant to you if you have significant experience - the key is both giving and receiving feedback to an audience who are there to help you improve.
